So, I'm still working on the novel, just at a more sustainable pace. It'll get finished (though not until well into next year, at this rate), and will no doubt be much better for not having been rushed through on a wave of caffeine and resentment.


Crafting a First SentenceI am the ficklest of readers. It's possible to bore me on the first line of your book. I'm not the only one. There are scores of people who don't even like reading. Your task, if you choose to accept it, is to make them care. Make them want to read. Make them fall in love with your characters.
